Give us the background - when and why did you decide to open a record shop
We opened our store due to are massive love of music and clothing. At definitely maybe we have tried to mix the music scene with clothing that suits. The idea of mixing both of my passions was the driving force behind the shop. I had been collecting records for a few years, so this just felt right.
Tell us about your store – what’s the vibe
We try and cater for all kind of music here, it is hugely influenced by the 90’s, but you will find loads of records from the 60s right through to present. The store is on 3 floors, with the lower, full of records, which spill over the reception area, with a lot of music and sporting memorabilia on the walls. Upstairs you will find clothing, with the 80s retro clothing mixed with fashion from the present day, from brands such as Lyle and Scott to Fila and Sergio Tacchini.
We also have big plans upcoming, which will involve band signing sessions and acoustic sets at the shop, and main events at a nearby Venue.
Can you remember the first record you sold in the shop? And the last?
First record we sold was Definitely Maybe by Oasis ironically enough, and the last we sold was AC/DC live.
